EXCELLENT WORK at our first game!  I received the following email this weekend, which I wanted to share with you:

  • Mr. Wyse and Ms. Astey – I am the mother of a 9th grade band member at Holy Name High School. I had the pleasure of watching your band perform at the football game on Friday. All I can say is “WOW!” What a talented group of young men and women. It was clear that a lot of practice went into the show, and it truly was fantastic!

It is wonderful to receive this kind of positive feedback from our audience… Students, you are off to a solid start!  We will reflect on our performance, and discuss ways in which we can improve, at our rehearsal on Tuesday evening.

Earn $10 for the Band Boosters AND $10 for your Student Account by investing only 15 minutes of your time!

On Sunday, September 28th, the Band Boosters will partner with Liberty Ford and our lead Liberty sales rep, Walt Bailey, to participate in the “Drive 4UR School Program.” Band students are asked to recruit family & friends to come to BBHHS where they can test drive a 2014 Ford vehicle like Focus, Edge, Explorer, or Escape. There is no sales pressure, all that drivers need to do is complete a brief evaluation about the test drive. This is the perfect time to test drive a Ford that you may have been looking to try, or if you know someone looking for a new vehicle.

For every test drive taken (up to 300) Ford will donate $20 to the Band Boosters, up to $6,000!  The Boosters will earn $10 and the student will earn $10. All student-earned funds will be put in his/her student account that can be used for various band fees.

Test Drivers must be 18 years of age, and only one test Driver is permitted per household. Drivers must bring their driver’s license or they will not be able to drive. Additional activities will include a 50/50 raffle, and performances from our fine students!

Beginning August 29th, each band/flagline student will be invited to recruit five (5) individuals to drive a Ford on their behalf. Appointments will be scheduled in advance via email on a first come, first served basis between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:30 pm. If appointments are still available one week prior to the event, students will be able to recruit additional drivers.

E-mail and include the following information (NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE):

  1. Driver’s name, phone number, and e-mail
  2. Student’s name (who they are driving for)
  3. Preferred time for appointment

We will do our best to honor appointment times, although the sooner appointments are requested, the better chance to get that time. We will schedule appointments until we reach 300 drivers!!!

Volunteers will be needed to make reminder calls, put up tents, register test drivers, and assist Liberty Ford Staff. A volunteer sign-up sheet will be available at the September 2nd Band Booster meeting. Your help is greatly appreciated, to ensure success!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail Nancy Randall, Debbie Karpowicz or Kathy Richards at

So let’s “Drive One 4 OUR Band”!!!

Students will be allowed to perform in groups of 2 or 3, on the same instrument. We will have signups posted beginning this week, and all students must sign up for a time.
