BBHHS Jazz Ensemble

The BBHHS Jazz Ensemble aims to educate and excite students about the medium of jazz, through the study of improvisation, jazz style, history, and significant musical figures. The Jazz Ensemble studies and performs a diverse range of challenging literature, from traditional Big Band charts to Bebop, Latin, Funk, Rock, and more.

The ensemble has performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Cleveland I-X Center, the Lakeland Jazz Festival, the Maplerock Jazz Festival at Ashland University, and the Tri-C Jazz Festival.  They have served as the opening act for The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, and performed with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra at BBHHS. Jazz Ensemble students are in grades 9-12, are selected by audition, and meet daily as part of the music curriculum.
