It’s odd to think that we will be wrapping up this school year in just two weeks! We certainly are missing our end of the year traditions, but the directors and Band Officers are working to keep them going in virtual formats. Students have one final playing assignment due, and then the remainder of assignments will be turning in any missing work and various other end of the year tasks necessary for band members. Please make sure you read all items below.
MUSIC DEPARTMENT TURN-IN
Music Department Turn-In Day is FRIDAY, MAY 22ND. Students will be turning in concert uniforms, marching uniforms, music folders, music, warm-up books, mutes, Little Mermaid pit books, and school owned instruments. ALL SCHOOL OWNED INSTRUMENTS MUST BE TURNED IN AT THIS TIME. We hope to start re-issuing school instruments by the end of June. If you need your instrument for Private Lessons over the Summer, contact Mr. Rex BEFORE turn-in on Friday. Please see assigned times, details, and procedures HERE. Seniors: Please also bring with you a wallet size Senior Photo of your choice to be included in the Class of 2020 collage poster. STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A GRADE FOR TURNING IN ALL REQUIRED ITEMS.
ALL STUDENTS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO WEAR MASKS. ALL STAFF/VOLUNTEERS WILL BE WEARING MASKS AND A SANITIZING STATION WILL BE AVAILABLE.
STUDENT INFO & COMMITMENT FORMS
ALL STUDENTS currently in grades 8-11 MUST complete the Student Info Form. This information is vital to help us maintain accurate records and effective communication. Please complete the form by Tuesday, May 26th. ALL STUDENTS CURRENTLY IN GRADES 8-11 WILL RECEIVE A GRADE FOR COMPLETING THIS FORM. If you are not planning to continue with band at this time, we still need you to update your contact info in case we need to contact you over the summer.
Please also read the May Commitment Form. In addition to filling out the Student Info Form, the Band Booster Fee is what secures your commitment/enrollment in band for the 2020-2021 school year. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Rex.

We will have one final high school band Zoom on Thursday at 1:00pm. This is optional, but we are excited to welcome back BBHHS Band Alumni to serve on a discuss panel about band participation at the collegiate level. These students include both music and non-music majors. Everett Dalesio(’18), David Nowacki(’19), AJ Orlando(’19), Nicole Ortenzi(’19), Stephen Pilat(’19), and Ava Traum(’18) will be present. We hope students will join us for this special Zoom session!
BBHCSD has recently reevaluated the use of Zoom, and has concluded it is still a safe platform so long as Best Practices for Secure Zoom meetings and the Parent and Student Guide to Using Zoom are understood and followed.
