EQUIPMENT & UNIFORM TURN-IN

The BBHHS Music Department is currently finalizing plans for Equipment and Uniform Turn-In on Friday, May 22nd. Since many of our students have several items to turn in for band/music classes in addition to their regular academics, we worked with administration to plan a separate day just for music department turn-in. More details to come!

STUDENT LEADERSHIP

We had such a great group of students apply for leadership positions this year! Unfortunately, this always makes these decisions incredibly difficult, and we have to take into consideration all factors available to us(applications, interviews, attendance, music checks, rehearsal etiquette, etc.). Please keep in mind that even if you were not selected for a leadership position you can still be a leader without a title, and we are always looking for our next set of student leaders. Everyone should be respectful and sensitive to those who were not selected for this first round of student leadership positions. Please feel free to contact the directors with any questions.

MAKE SURE YOU JOIN THE 2020-2021 STUDENT LEADERSHIP GOOGLE CLASSROOM! THER ARE ALREADY REQUIRED MATERIALS POSTED.

DRUMLINE/FLAGLINE AUDITIONS

Drumline and Flagline audition information is now live! ALL percussionists signed up for band next school year are required to complete an audition. Since we are still offsite and new Flagline members typically are not currently enrolled in band, we need everyone in our band family to help spread the word that Flagline audition information is available. You are our best recruiters!

We still plan to do all we can to continue to honor and recognize our wonderful seniors, get energized and plan for next school year, and finish this year strong.

DISNEY REFUND UPDATE

We have been receiving several e-mails inquiring about when Disney refunds will be received. Below is an update from Paul of Great Day! Tours:

We have been in contact with some of the suppliers of the Disney tour as recently as last week. Like Ohio, Florida is shut down. Disney recently laid off 43,000 employees. When we cancelled the Disney reservation, they told us it would be 3 to 6 months before we could expect a refund. We are members of the American Bus Association and I have talked with other members that operate school trips and they have all been told the same time frame for refunds. I talked with the general manager of the hotel last week. Their hotel group owns 22 hotels and only necessary employees are allowed at the properties. He estimated 90 to 120 days before the refund.

This is how I have been spending a lot of my days, trying to reach people to get some kind of timeline on the refunds. Most of my school tours go to big cities (Orlando, Washington, New York, Chicago) and everyone is telling me the same thing; they are shut down, so nobody is in the offices. I am working from home, but I am in constant contact with the owners of our company and they are monitoring refunds. So far, we have only received a few refunds for any of our tours (school and adults).

Thank you for your patience. Like you, I hope all of this is resolved sooner than later. – Paul Travagilianti, Great Day! Tours
