Band Update 1/04

Band Update 12/01

Dear Parents and Students,

I trust that you all enjoyed a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend… the remaining three weeks before our winter break will be busy, but exciting!

THIS WEEK:

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday – all bands will rehearse during their normal periods.

Thursday and Friday – All bands will meet during the 7th-8th Period block to rehearse for the Holiday Parade.  These 2 days will function just like the fall Marching Band schedule (including lunch/study hall changes, as applicable).  Unless there is rain, we will plan to march outside on both Thursday and Friday... students should bring their coats to class!

HOLIDAY PARADE – Sunday, Dec. 4th (CT 2:30)
Students will report to the high school at 2:30 to change into uniforms and raincoats.  The parade begins at 4:00.  The buses will unload on Lawnpark Drive, and the parade will move toward the center of town, ending at the Old Stadium, where the buses will be waiting.  Students will be returned to the high school by approximately 4:30.

Important Uniform Information
*Following the parade, ALL UNIFORMS MUST GO HOME, and be dropped off for Dry Cleaning at On the Spot Cleaner on the corner of Broadview and 82 in Broadview Hts.  Please note, this is the ONLY dry cleaner that is authorized to clean our uniformsdue to liability and insurance issues.  Uniforms must be cleaned by MARCH 1st, 2012.

Simply hand them the uniform jacket and pants, and give them your name.  They will have a list of band students and cross off that your uniform  has been cleaned.  The payment for this cleaning was built into your Booster Fee, so there is no need to pay when you pick up your uniform.  Once you pick up your uniform – please keep it hung up at home until you come on April 9th to leave for Florida!

FAQ:
1) If you have an excused absence for the holiday parade – you still must take your uniform home to go through the dry cleaning process.

2) If you are not joining us for the Disney trip, then you do not need to go through the Dry Cleaning process at this time.

Thank you!
Jason Wyse
