CONGRATULATIONS to our students that performed with the OMEA All-State Band and All-State Jazz Ensemble this weekend in Cincinnati! Both ensembles gave inspiring performances with world class conductors. Being selected to the OMEA All-State ensembles is the highest honor a band student can receive in Ohio. BBHHS was one of only two schools in the entire state that had representation in all four All-State ensembles(Band, Choir, Jazz, and Orchestra). We hope to have many students audition for these groups this Spring!
EXTRA PEP BAND – 2/5
Attention Pep Band Members! We have been asked to add an additional pep band performance for the girls Senior Night this Wednesday, February 5th. Originally there was a Tri-M event scheduled for this date, which is why a pep band was not. Please CLICK HERE to say whether or not you would be able to add this date to our calendar last minute. OMEA SOLO & ENSEMBLE
OMEA Solo & Ensemble is Saturday, February 15th. All students are responsible for their own transportation to North Ridgeville High School. All ensembles MUST schedule a time to rehearse with Mr. Rex both this week AND next. Final details will be released in next week’s bulletin and Mr. Rex should have the schedule to send out via Remind by the end of the week.
SEVERANCE HALL CD ORDERS
If you would like to purchase a CD of the Wind Ensemble and Concert Winds performance at Severance Hall please send in payment of $10.00 with your student and place it in the Band Booster lock box outside of the Band Office. Please make sure your student’s name is marked on the payment and make checks payable to BBHHS Band Boosters. Orders must be received by WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH.
CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER – WEDNESDAY!
Our Band Officers have coordinated a fundraiser at Chipotle on Wednesday, February 5th from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Please make your dinner plans now. The band receives 1/3 of all profits, but you must show the flyer below when you pay!
DISNEY TRIP UPDATES
MAILING #2: This week we will be sending out a paper mailing that will contain many important forms for the Disney Trip and individual Bee Bucks balances. The final payment is due by March 1st. All forms are due at the REQUIRED Disney Trip Meeting on Monday, March 9th. The mailing will also be posted on the Disney Trip page by the end of the week should you need additional copies.
TRIP ROSTER VERIFICATION: All students and parents please check the Disney Attendees 2020 roster to make sure your student’s name appears on the list. Students marked with a double asterisk are those who will not be traveling with the band and will only be performing with the band. Please contact Ms. Astey with any corrections by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH. If your name is on the list and should NOT be, please also contact Ms. Astey.
ELECTRONIC FORMS: The forms below WILL NOT be included in the paper mailing, but must be filled out electronically.
- DIETARY NEEDS FORM – To be filled out by ALL students, chaperones, and staff traveling with the band. Due by the REQUIRED Disney Trip Meeting on Monday, March 9th.
- PG-13 MOVIE LIST FORM – All movies to be shown on the buses must be pre-approved. Check this list and add any additional PG-13 movies you wish to be added to the list by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH.
