Band Bulletin #22: 1/13-1/19 – BAND AUDITIONS DUE FRIDAY!

First Semester has officially come to an end and tomorrow begins Second Semester. We could use a couple more helpers 4th period if any students now have a study hall. Please let Mr. Rex know ASAP. This week’s main focus is Band Audition submissions. Please keep in mind that the current BBHHS master schedule can always change, and the music department is looking at some changes to what period courses are offered that may reduce students after school commitment while providing opportunities for collaboration. Please do not assume any scheduling conflicts with other courses you are wanting to take(i.e. Jazz/AP Physics). Submit your audition and request all the courses you desire to when scheduling.

The weekly S&E Rehearsal schedule is available HERE.

MARCHING BEES BAND CAMP 2019

We are currently looking at possible changes to the Band Camp schedule for the 2019-2020 school year. This is due to some potential conflicts with other activities in which our students are heavily involved(cross country, tennis, MIM, etc.) as well as facility use. Before we finalize the dates we want to hear for you! We understand that no option will have zero conflicts, and as always we will be as flexible as possible as conflicts arise. CLICK HERE to provide your feedback.

FOCUS GROUP

As we begin planning for next year, we would like to start a focus group of students to do some goal setting and vision brainstorming about the short term and long term future of the band program. What does the Band Program look like next year? In 5 years? In 10 years? What do we want to see the Band Program accomplish next year? In 5 years? In 10 years? Change is a good thing, while also holding onto and evolving traditions that are of value and relevance to current and future bands. This group would meet once a month after school with Mr. Rex starting in February and would be made up of students currently in grades 8-11. We are wanting to have a diverse representation from students in all grades. If you are interested in being a part of this group please fill out this INTEREST FORM by January 21st.
