Band Bulletin # 12 – Concert Season!

…to all students, parents, chaperones, staff, and anyone & everyone who helped to make The Marching Bees run this season. It takes so much work from all, and we cannot thank you enough for your time and dedication!

Since this was a transitional year and our student leaders took on the challenge of raising the bar in terms of musicality and individual accountability, we welcome your feedback. Please feel free to contact Mr. Rex or stop in the Band Office to share your thoughts. As we move into concert season our Band Bulletins may not be posted every week, but we will still send out a Remind anytime a new bulletin is posted.

CONCERT BANDS BEGIN MONDAY

  • 5th Period = Symphonic Bands (Crimson and Gold)*
  • 6th Period = Concert Winds & Wind Ensemble

*Symphonic Band students should review their schedules on Monday to determine where they will be 6th period.  Generally, if the student is a 10th or 11th grader, they will have lunch 6A and Study Hall 6B.  If they are a 9th or 12th grader, they will have Study Hall 6A and lunch 6B. Please confirm your schedule.

Instrument Repair

If your personal instrument is in need of maintenance/repair from marching season, please attend to this ASAP.  All students should have instruments in proper working condition (tuning slides that move, no tape holding things together, etc), along with all necessary equipment (reeds, ligatures, valve oil) throughout the concert season.

BAND SUPPLIES

We have re-stocked our supplies in the Band Office. Student can purchase items at cost from the Band Office such as reeds, oil, standard ligatures, cork grease, etc. A complete list of items and pricing is available HERE. These are all quality brands recommended by the directors and sold to you with savings from the retail price.

Music Department Students of the Month

Beginning with the month of November, the BBHHS Music Department will be recognizing one student each month from Band, Choir, and Orchestra. These students will be selected by directors based on work ethic, attitude, musicianship, random acts of kindness, going above and beyond, individual achievement, mentoring others, improvement, etc. The goal is to continue recognizing students for being outstanding participants of the music program. The selected students will be featured on the enclosed bulletin board next to the instrument storage room.
